New Vortex Viper HD FFP

I ended up getting the viper HD 5-25 mil version last fall and so far I love it overall. Glass is great. Better than PST gen2 imo (and that glass was perfectly acceptable to me)

I haven't hunted it yet but I think I will enjoy it.

My only gripe for crossover hunting scope is the size, it's pretty long (similar form factor to pst gen2). But I knew that going in. As I said I would have preferred the 3-15 if only they made it in FFP, and the smaller size would have been appreciated. Nothing has changed in that regard. I think they missed a market opportunity there. Oh well. I am still thrilled with this 5-25.

If it holds up to hunting without losing zero it will be a huge winner with very little competition at the moment. Everything else with comparable glass is either significantly heavier or significantly more money.

I'd still like to try a mk4hd but the price difference (at the time I bought the Viper HD anyway) was too great for me to bite.

Well I might just bite the bullet and go SFP.

The deal they are running right now on optics planet puts them right at $500. Which is pretty ridiculous.

Loving my 5-25 FFP as well, but would also kill for a 3-15 in FFP.

Reading the earlier posts in this thread about how people have been clamoring for a Razor LHT 3-15 in FFP for years to no avail cuts me deep. I guess we're a pretty small sliver of the market.

I have a chance to get one for a good price and may replace my SWFA 3-9 on my 6.5 prc....wondering how the Viper HD holds zero

I’ve got 2. No issues, took a bull at 650 this year with mine.

No complaints.

How is the tracking and returning to zero? What are you personal thoughts of its durability? The 3-15 seems to fit right into my next project. Any insights would be great! Thank you!

Great. No issues. I have 2, ones actually posted for sale right now on this site. Just going a different route.

Killed a bull this year at 650 with a 3-15x44. Goes head to head with the vx5 for hundreds less.

Really competes with the LHT razor really well too.
