New tricer bipod

We are not addressing any of these

We are not addressing any of these guys. We make great stuff and are only trying to make the Industry better. There are a few competitive shooters who are obsessed with me. They have gone back through years of posts forums etc. finding ways to bash me.

I am just gonna do me and keep making great stuff to make the industry better. I just spent a month in Hawaii hunting and now I am headed to Africa on Monday. Trust me these guys are not affecting my sales or my life at all. Life is good and Tricer is exploding.

I feel bad for grown men that have nothing better to do than bash on a guy just trying to run a business.

Good to hear that. Not sure why those guys have been bashing on you so much, pretty childish, in my opinion. Sure makes me not as stoked to attend an NRL hunter match of they are just clowns like that.

Has anyone shot a magnum cartridge off this bipod yet? If so, how did the bipod do compared to something like an atlas, specifically regarding recoil mitigation and bullet impact/tracking after the shot? Also, anyone have real world use comparing this bipod to a hatch first gen or second gen? Thanks!

Also who is Brice Bergen? Never heard of him.

I wish I was owned by vortex

Losers don’t have haters, buddy!

Turn the other cheek and keep getting better. They’re gonna be mad about something either way.

Tricer pros= lighter, more prone adjustability, taller over all height compared to the standard hatch, spiked feet.

Hatch pros= quickest leg deployment on the market, known durability, cant adjustment only no pan which is a big positive.

Not going to sell my hatch until this thing has proven itself over a couple seasons.

I just shot my first NRL. 99% of the people were great, even some of the well known sponsored individuals. Everyone there was there to have a good time. The only grumbling/sour attitude I heard was towards the switchy windy conditions 😆
That bipod looks nice. Might take a look at one in near future

Thank you sir. You outlined all the aspects of the Tricer that had me hold off initially. Let me know how you like it the more you use it. That hatch gen 2 is looking pretty dang good. Spiked feet on the Tricer are nice.

If only Tricer had made it without pan…

I'll interject on a lot of the hate and trash talk that has occurred, as I'm getting tired of the single side- it may appear out of place, unwarranted - IMO its understandable, jury is still out if its deserved.

It doesn't stem from "competition shooters obsessed with Tricer" or just hating on a new product because it isnt made by MDT. It's not the new RP bipod or the social media ad campaign run by Tricer.

A lot of talk and hate boiled up because of Tricer's X1 and X2 competition focused tripods, specifically the locking apex mechanism (The trash talk has seemed to have moved on from there.) That mechanism is deployed into place to keep the tripod legs from collapsing inward. A big deal in PRS or NRL when you are shooting with a tripod rear support.

The first tripod to have such a mechanism is the Dauntless by T3 optics/PRSTF, it was released a couple of years ago. The guy that designed and sells that tripod it is a PRS/NRL competitor and a great ambassador of the sport, he is a friend of mine. His tripods are OEM'd by leofoto, and include his designed locking apex mechanism, making the tripod the "Dauntless by T3 Optics"

He is well known in the competition side of PRS/NRL shooting, travels and shoots a lot. He runs his business well, is very generous to competitors, is often a sponsor, donates a lot of gear and prizes to every match he attends and even those he doesnt. Goes as far as loaning out personal gear to others for matches he is not attending. He works full time - designs products and runs his store in his spare time out his garage.

So when a large company like @Tricer enters the competitive shooting market with their X1/X2 tripods and incorporates a mechanism that appears to be a blatant ripoff/copy of a well known, very well liked competitor, who designed and developed it, it doesn't sit right with a lot of people, myself included.

I cant speak to the quality of their new bipod or to trash talk on the internet. Brushing it off as "haters" or "obsessed competition shooters" is a bit simplistic, but I also believe the trash talk on the internet has cast too wide of a net.

Tricer entered a competitive shooting market with what appears to be a blatant copy of someone else's idea, if it is so, they deserve to get called out for it.

Isn’t that what patents are for? No idea if anything you say is true, but there are ways to avoid that. If not Tricer, someone else would do the same. When, not if. Your explanation doesn’t make any sense

Having never compared the two side by side myself, is the apex an actual duplication in design or simply the concept of a locking apex? I understand what you’re saying but if the locking apex is the only thing the have in common and the design isn’t a 100% clone, then i find it hard to be upset at someone for developing their own design of a similar product. Theres only so many ways to skin that cat and lock the legs… and even if its heavily influenced by another’s design, if its not locked up by a patent there’s really not much anyone can do or say about it.

Correct that is what patents are for - and I assume that a different patent filed trying to patent something similar would be found out during discovery.

Regardless of "when, not if" that does not make it right. My explanation, is that the "hate" everyone is seeing on the bipod, which was a big point of discussion on this forum, stems from a deeper issue.

There's other things out there - MPA makes an add on called the tripod lock. Having an integrated mechanism, that is pull twist is what I'm referring to. Other aspects of the tripod are irrelevant IMO, theres a lot of differences. the locking mechanism is what made T3's tripod unique and sure seems to be made too close to.

I dont know the state of my buddies patent on his design, I assume he does have one. Regardless, that does not make it right.

I don’t come on this forum much, but I keep getting sent screen shots of this, so here I am…
Hi, it’s me, Matt Alwine one of the match shooters “obsessed”

I think some people just aren’t big fans of being lied to directly to their face…

When Drew “Tricer” started claiming that
“all the top NRL shooters are switching to Tricer” when not a single top shooter is using them, that is an issue.
The rifle match community is small, so we catch onto stuff like this pretty fast!
I’m sure if your gear is indeed “the best” we will soon see the podium finishes stacking up with your equipment.

So, this is just wishful marketing? Serious question. I'm not in the NRL world even a little bit.

That’s kind of how things work though isn’t it? Good ideas are taken and tweaked until things are continuously improved. Should only one tripod manufacturer get to use twist lock legs?

He did it first I did it better. Here is the final version and what I have filed a patent for.

Innovation should be welcomed not challenged. Feel free to share this with any concerned parties.
