New to Elk hunting(kinda)???

So I did my 1st Montana elk bow hunt Sept. 16-30th, and it is official I AM 100% hooked!!! We were on bulls every day, but thats another whole other post.

My questions is I will be going back with the rifle for opener. White Sulphur Springs area. Private land DYI. but I feel I know the ranch pretty well after 12 days of hunting it.

What will the elk be doing at that time?
Tactics should I be researching for that time of year?
I will be taking my .280, recommended bullets?
Anything will be helpful.
