I’m lucky to have an Az late season rifle bull tag this year and hoping for some ideas. Love Elk hunting and the country it takes you to, and know bigger bulls will likely be in deeper areas at this time? I suspect late seasons can be tough , weather wise and pressure, but do they tend to drop low at first sign of snow in this zone? And how low, into Apache land? This is the 1st Arizona Bull tag I’ve ever had, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Hoping to get 1 pre scout trip and will arrive a week before hunt.
Thanks!

Is that big burn from about a decade ago all grown up in there now, or is visibility still decent?

Had a great time, beautiful country, good people. I showed up 5 days in advance to scout, I should have made it 2 weeks before. I hunted hard for a great bull, but couldn't find the bull I wanted. 1 was close, probably 340", and if he was seen on the last day I would have taken him. I could have killed a number of 300" bulls, a few 320" ers as well. I wish the season was longer, didn’t want to go home.
