Damn that 153 TMK is a big fat bastard lol. It’s for sure going to shoot slower than the 156 and with a .026 lower G7. Not sure if that one is super appealing considering the consistent wounds the 156’s are producing.View attachment 1032252Interesting to see how much larger that meplat is on the 153 once it loses the tip vs the eldm. Can’t wait to put it to good use.
Good points. Been running the 156 and 108 (Elite Hunter) Bergers with devestating results. My excitement for the 153 and 107 TMK has faded a bit. Those two specific Berger variants are hard not to love, they shoot so well and fast, and have been 100% consistent for me.Damn that 153 TMK is a big fat bastard lol. Any insights in the 7mm 185’s. Haven’t seen BC info on those yet.
I think there would be some merit tho for a cheaper bullet, and a polymer tip, thus never having to worry about a hollow point being deformed or clogged? Not sure if that one is super appealing considering the consistent wounds the 156’s are producing.
How slow would you feel ok impacting an animal with the 156eol?Damn that 153 TMK is a big fat bastard lol. It’s for sure going to shoot slower than the 156 and with a .026 lower G7. Not sure if that one is super appealing considering the consistent wounds the 156’s are producing.

Great points there. I haven’t killed any animals at a minimum velocity threshold for any bullet to speak to how low I’d be willing to shoot them. I have zero first hand experience with any impacts on animals below 2000 fps with Berger’s. At 2000fps my limited experience says it’s still doing good damage. So I just use that as my baseline. How slow would you feel ok impacting an animal with the 156eol?
No data yet obviously, but the TMK might buy you an extra 2-300 of reliable expansion. Even if it starts slower with a marginally worse overall bc.
Agreed for sure. I don’t think I’ll pull the trigger on the 153’s personally. But am looking forward to seeing what they did with the 7mm 185’s.Good points. Oh no I didn’t take it that way all!!Agree. And I hope it wasn’t coming across like I was calling you out.
I’m eager to see the TMK field reports from bear season this year.
True thatOh no I didn’t take it that way all!!
It’s pretty hard to personally get a vast amount of legit bottom end terminal performance on bullets. So I feel like it’s good to touch base about what others are seeing and feel comfortable with, from what they’ve seen as well.
I am getting 0.1250”Anyone know the length of the plastic tip on the 88TMK? I'm using the JBM stability calculator to see if these will hit 1.5 for my 16" 22CM.
It’s my understanding that you don’t count a tip in the length. Maybe I’m wrong?Anyone know the length of the plastic tip on the 88TMK? I'm using the JBM stability calculator to see if these will hit 1.5 for my 16" 22CM.
Bro, come onIt’s my understanding that you don’t count a tip in the length. Maybe I’m wrong?
I’ve seen your rifle builds, you’re unable to get low impact experience because 1800fps is usually 1500+ yards.Oh no I didn’t take it that way all!!
