New TMK announced

88s dont really intrigue me for a short barreled 223.

Agreed.

On the other hand, 88s in a .22-250 should be making the .22-250 even better than its original parent cartridge, the .250-3000 (originally loaded with an 87-grain bullet). It still won’t be legal for deer in Virginia, but I think it will be fun to shoot 0-600 on other things.

Similarly, I am excited about the 107s and 116s in my .243, which is on its way back to me from Alpine Rifles after having some stuff added to the stock. I expect that will be a Quick Drop friendly equivalent to my old .25-06. Which in turn will be fun with the heavier options.

Said it before but a 75-82 grain TMK not designed around 2.26" magazines would be attractive for 223s.

88s dont really intrigue me for a short barreled 223.

I have a 16” 223ai that I’ll be able to load them around 2.45”, hopefully as long as 2.5”.

Fireforming with 88eldms at 2700 with lever at that length, they shot pretty small.

I’m not sure why I’m so intrigued by it. But I saved a couple hundred of the 88 TMK’s to give it a go.

Surprised I was able to grab some 22 cal 88’s and 6mm 107’s tonight. Feel like I’m cheating on my stash of 77’s and 95’s, but figured I gotta try them out!

I'll give the 88's a go in my 16" 223 when I can get some.
Its a .100 fb and 1/7" twist.
The 80 ELD-M's shoot great at 2800 fps.

Even if they were only going 2750, the 88's would reach 1800 fps at 700 yards and be a 7 mph gun. 5,000 DA.
Yeah, I’m gonna try them in the barrel snagged from you. They very well may not work out, but I’ll try. I too have about .100” or so FB, and long mags, so I don’t have to eat a bunch of case capacity. Maybe the alloy cases would be enough.

88tmk in the throated 223ai to the lands is 2.6”.

The 77’s shot small .125” off in this barrel. I hope these are as amenable to a jump.

If you wanted to shoot them in a 223 and maximize powder capacity - you’d need to be able to load 2.6”.

Looks like a really nice loading! I have a regular 8 twist 223, but as stated above, I do have extra freebore, and long mags. As well as I’ll be experimenting with the alloy cases. Maybe N150/N540 can get them moving well enough

I reached out to Sierra earlier this week about load data for their new TMK.
Specifically I was asking about 22cm, 6GT, 6cm, and 6.5cm. Not a lot of info, but maybe it helps some of you out.
Here was their answer:

The 22 cal tmk will be with the 90gr load data, and the 107gr tmk will be with the 107gr data. The only ones I have not tested is the 153gr 6.5 bullet and the 116gr tmk. Make sure you have the correct twist for both of those bullets in you rifle a 8T in a 6.5cm will not be enough to get the full BC and a 7.5 in the 6 gt is recommended.
