I reached out to dead air, they said they expect to start shipping these around April 1.Anyone hear/read/see a ship date on these?
Great time to be a consumer in the suppressor market. So many good options becoming available. Capitalism at its finest.
Agreed - would be nice without needing the Xeno brakeMy lgs was told by his dead air rep that the otb was slightly quieter (1-2db) on the same gun than the nomad xc.
I was pretty excited about getting one but if it's 13+ ounces, that's a little less exciting. The xeno brake does help take advantage of the reflex chamber, but you could save over an ounce going to a xero mount.
I also asked about barrel lengths and they said the restrictions would be similar to the nomad xc and 12.5 for creedmoor would be sufficient.
Yeah, I dropped the better part of an ounce off my nomad xc by swapping the DA direct thread for a diligent defense direct thread.Dead Air is weird about weight. They make these XC models really thin/light then put heavy ass DT or QD adapters in them. I'd rather have an extra 1.5-2 ounces of TI in the tube/baffles than wasted on freakin adapters.
They just released this chassis to be purchased without the gun. But still no lefty option. Thanks! I never think to look at their stuff as they don't have left handed options.
While I understand the gripe, 1.5-2 ounces isn't a huge penalty when adding in the benefits of a left hand thread taper mount. I can think of plenty of scenarios where I would have to take a supressor off and put it back on. I would like the best return to zero when doing so.Dead Air is weird about weight. Not if you torque the mount on properly. I think the bigger issue is and always will be getting the can off especially without the mount stuck inside. I’ll be switching between 1/2x28 and 5/8x24 threaded barrels so an adapter mount is unavoidable. Taper mounts also help prevent the suppressor from walking off the threads another issue with direct thread.DT returns to zero fine. Why are left handed threads a good thing? In my experience they just make it easier to loosen the adapter when you're tightening the can.
