New Tikka 7mm PRC for first elk hunt

I have joined the Tikka 7 PRC club. Mine is a Roughtech with a 24" barrel. I replaced the plastic bottom "metal" with a Mountain Tactical version. I had to do a tiny bit of dremel work on the inlet to get the bottom metal to fit but it was easy. I tightened the action screws to 60 inch pounds (getting there in steps). I have a Q Cherry Bastard as a muzzle brake (one port on each side) and it also serves as a host for my suppressor. I added a Backfire butt pad. I scoped it with a Vortex Gen lll 4x24 and have about 70 rounds down range so far. Getting 3/4 inch groups (3 shot) smack in the middle of the bullseye when I am careful. Recoil is not bad. In the real world, however, I think my 6.5 PRC rifles are more fun to shoot and will do almost everything the 7 PRC will do and with less recoil. However, playing around with the 7 PRC is fun and I will be shooting steel out to 800 yards now that I have the rifle at least part broken in and properly zeroed. Benefits of living on a ranch in central AZ.
