New strings/cables - Steps to getting bow in spec

I got new strings and cables put on last season but now something seems out of whack. With a bareshaft at 5 yds I am getting a bad right nock tear. Once you guys put new strings and cables on, what is your process for making sure the bow is in tune. I've twisted and untwisted the yokes enough now that I want to start at the beginning. I have a homemade draw board and access to a press. Center shot is set at 13/16" and nock about 1/8" high.

First set the bow up to the factory specs for brace height, ATA, and time the cams. Draw it on the board and look at the cam lean if you have a bow that is yoke adjusted. I adjust for straight up and down cams at draw. Either by yoke adjustment, or cam shimming. Most of my experience is with PSE bows.

Then start the tuning process from there. I don't measure center shot, but set it to the centershot marks on the riser and then paper tune, then bareshaft and finally walk back. Knock point usually ends up 1/8" high, or a little less.

My experience is a new cable/string set will settle in after 200 shots or so, and need minor adjustment at that point. I'll bareshaft check it and walk back check it after a while to see if it is stable.

If you got good strings they should be very close and put the bow very close to spec. The first thing I do is set them up so that the marks on my cams match where I had them. Then I'll want to check the draw weight compared to previous, I want it to match where I had it. I also check the ATA and BH to make sure those are close as well. Then I'll shoot the bow about 50 times and check everything again, if it changed I'll reset them. Then shoot some more until they're right where I want them.

Then I put my peep in and start BS tuning at 20 yards. Everything should be very close already at that point. Maybe a 1/2 twist here or there.

Unfortunately I didnt have anything marked prior to getting the strings swapped. Bow is a Hoyt spyder 30. Brace height measures at the 6.5", A2A measures 3/16" long ( not sure what the acceptable range is). Cam lean crosses bow string 2" below nock when at rest.

I will put it on draw board and check the draw length amd timing. Thanks for the input.

The other thing is.....I have arrows that I mark even with the berger hole that shows me where my exact draw length is once I have it all set up. That way I can adjust it to that as well. A perfect draw length makes for perfect shooting. Even a small amount makes a big difference. But you have to experiment in order to find that sweet spot. Once you find it........keep it.

My process is almost identical to Jeremy's above. I usually fire of 20 or so shots before installing the peep to let the strings settle. A quality set will be pre-strestched/pre-set so they should not need much settling once installed.
If you do not shoot much in the off season, a bad tear could be form related as well, especially if just getting back to the bow after a lay off.
