To clear things up, they do attach to the frame via a long strap that runs from the frame sheet and up to the lid. The loops on the front are only for attaching a quick detach buckle. Snip below is of an Evo 40/56, my personal favorite

I watched a how to attach lid video on the SG site and those straps are definitely on the bag.

Does the weight of 3lb 15 oz for the Terminus 7000 include the lid?

My Terminus 7k with liid, medium belt and with the straight stays swapped out for the curved stays weights 4.13lbs. I’m not sure the exact weight difference between the straight and curved stays, but I’m guessing the 3lb 15oz listed weight with straight stays includes the lid.

The lid and buckles included total a whopping 4.4 oz.

Nope you're right, I was thinking back to my packout this year and was confusing the straps with my loadlifters. My bad!

Ya, it's all pack. It's a non-issue since they started putting that small buckle on the back-side of the lid and pack.

Yeah I've never felt like it was an issue, love my SG pack

You guys don't ever leave the bag at the truck to pack meat but still want some storage?

Some things I don't love about kifaru. But there lid system works great for that.

I never have packed meat without my bag on the frame, but I can see where you're coming from. I use a hip mounted water bottle holster and a hip pouch, I guess one day I'll find out if that's enough.

I have found for ME attaching things to the help belt greatly increases its ability to slide down.

So I had to go on a big quest last year to get my pistol and water off the belt. In an effort to get packs to stay up better.

Idk I'm trying to be less picky. Seems like I just go in circles on packs.

Haha I hear you, we really are spoiled.

FWIW, I fought the same thing UNTIL I got my SG pack. It's the only pack I've ever used that didn't slide down my back under load, whether there was stuff on the hip belt or not. So I know exactly what you mean, luckily the SG seemed to fix that for me. Water, hip pouch. rangefinder (sometimes), handgun have all been on my hip belt at one point or another, and the only pack that's never slid down on me was the SG.

The Col doesnt appear to have the top of the bag attach with buckles when using load shelf. Is that correct?
The R3 uses buckles.

Correct. The Krux and X-curve never have, the just have a strap on top of the frame that goes to a ladderlock on the bag.

I was excited about the new bag when I saw it in promo pics a couple weeks ago, but I'm not sure it does much for me now.. It's basically the same size as the 5900 if you take the lid off and have it in bivy mode, but without the ability to expand like the 5900 does.

Anyone swapped the ladderlocks for buckles? I use the load shelf a lot and don’t want to be threading it through each time.

I agree, I think Thais bag is a huge miss and provides nothing better then the 3600, 5900, or 6900, even the 6400. All of those in bivy mode are 4800 minus the 3600.
I really wish they would have made a terminus 5900 or something like that.

That would certainly tempt me, never had a stone, but a terminus in that size may change that. Their 26” frames and no place to put one on has kept me from trying them (as well as the frame configurations, which is probably a good thing, unless you are buying sight unseen)

The terminus platform intrigues me, but my niche is day tripping blacktail, so something sub 5000ci would be more ideal for me.
