Electric lawn mowers?

I have been looking at switching to an electric push mower fora 1/4 acre lot. I was looking hard at Milwaukee. I wanted to keep all the batteries the same for all my power tools. After seeing more than a few reviews, I am going to let Milwaukee work the bugs out of their mower. They have been having issues with QC. Wheel bearings over pressed, mower is cutting in and out (sounds like a switch issue), uneven cuts, bags coming apart at seams, etc. Not trying to bash them, I like all the other stuff I have from them.

I am looking and going with EGO, just for lawn care and snow. If they are working well on a commercial level, one of the first post, then my place will be no big deal.

I’ve used an ego for about 5 years now in my yard. Been happy and it runs fine. The only problem I have is compared to my old gas mover, the suction of the electric isn’t as good. So, it doesn’t suck up all the dead leaves as well. I have to rake the stuff.

I strongly dislike the Ryobi I got. It claims you can mow 1/2 acre on the 2 4ah batteries that come with it (the normal Ryobi batteries are only 1.5-2?).

The only way I can mow my 1/4 acre lot on 2 batteries is if the blade is set up pretty high. If I want to do any significant mowing on a lower setting, the batteries are toast in 5 minutes. I ended up getting a junky old gas mower for $50 to mow my larger front yard, and just use the Ryobi for the back. It is sweet how light it is, my wife uses it a lot!

Bought my daughter one of those Wal-Mart store brand! It was on sale! Came with a charger and 2 batteries.
She had a small yard and it worked perfectly!
She could mow the entire place with one battery.
Then she got an out of state job offer! Now it's in the barn in OK and she's in an apartment in South Carolina!
I've no use for it, but she wants me to hold on to it!
Oh well!

Makita dual 18v (36), does the job just fine.

One side note the dog loves it! Quiet and doesn't scare him, he thinks I'm vacuuming the lawn and brings me toys

I'm not an electric guy but my son has had an EGO for years and I finally used it a few times after having carb issues on ours. Wife ended up buying an EGO package and I have to admit I love that damn thing. It's a great mower.

I hate to admit this, but I've been a gas guzzling tool guy forever. We recently bought a 40V B&D blower and trimmer and I like them, especially the light weight (wife now does a lot of the work, shhh...).

I just moved to a place with a smaller yard and do not need the rider anymore. How are your electrics doing 3 years later?
Five years on our ryobi. The release latch to fold the handle broke on both sides, I just use a bolt and wingnut. Blade should be sharpened for its first time. Battery, charger and the electric motor have been flawless. Our yard is tiny so maybe equivalent to two years of use on the average suburban yard.

Not sure about that (relatively) new avatar, Tony...

That is real creepy.

I've been using a Kobalt corded mower on my 0.18acre lot for about 5-6 years. The thing is a champ.

I doubt the corded ones are still available which is a bummer. I hate friggin batteries for everything under the sun.
