New sight for 2017 - axcel accutouch or trophy taker option

So I have used a 5 pin fixed the last 2 years. I tend to shoot animals close in. Under 40 yards if I can. I want to practice at 60-100 to hone skills so looking at a slider sight.

I Was zeroing in on a spot Hogg when two sights caught my attention:

Axcel ACcutouch
Trophy taker option

I have heard good things about both. There is some noise about durability and rattle on the option sight.

Anyone with experience with either of these care to share?

I have the option site. I love it and have had zero issues with it. I do have the american made version.

I have set up the not american made version and it isn't as solid in my opinion.

I would invest the extra money and get the american made version. Buy nice or buy twice

I haven't used the option but have 2 axcel accutouch and I very much like them. They work differently. Option pins move within a stable housing, excel housing moves up and down while the pin stays centered. If you want to shoot lo mg range, you will want the oval housing, I believe it is 8 pins though you can have one custom made with fewer pins in the oval housing.

I like the modularity of the axcel. I can change pin size or colors in about 30 seconds, have a multi or single pin scope, add a lens, target for or whatever very easily.

Currently have the HD accutouch on hunting bow with 41 mm scope and carbon pro version with 31 mm scope and 4x lens with for on new target rig. Haven't found anything I don't like about them.

The floating pin on the Option sights is a bit dim (there's not much fiber length on it) and for going out to 100 yards you'll most likely need to go with the oblong 8 pin housing. Mine is the offshore version and it's been plenty durable. Riding in a saddle scabbard for a week in Idaho with a few instance of a lead rope getting under my mules tail (causes some crow hopping on the mules part) and him jumping some small ditches, it has held up just fine. I was debating between these two sights last year and I don't regret my decision at all. Axcel makes great sights but a couple of things that can sneak up on you with sliders is vane clearance on long shots (cock vane up with Blazer type vanes) and forgetting to return the sight to zero after long distance shooting. My Option 6 (8 pin housing) bottoms out at 110 yards with my hunting setup which is a Xpedition Perfexion (338 IBO), 28.5" draw, pulling 74lb, and using 450gr arrows 4 fletched with a heavy helical.

I put the non usa option 6 thru some harsh conditions last year and it held up great. I bought it as soon as it was available. Sold it on my 2016 bow to a buddy. Just bought the USA version for my Reign 7. It is a great sight but I didn't see a huge difference between the USA version and the china version.
