It’s time to replace my OEM shocks on my 2017 Cummins Ram. Looking for advice on which to buy for bumpy dirt road driving. I don’t tow much but I do a fair amount of miles on bumpy ass dirt roads every year. I know lots of guys Here have these trucks and and abuse them on dirt roads. Hoping for some solid feedback
Thanks

I just replaced the factory shocks on my 2015 Ram 2500 Cummins. I went with Bilstein and I’m happy with the decision so far. Just returned from Colorado. Drove nearly 2000 miles with tons of dirt roads, rocks, mud, etc and they performed well. Also added a leveling kit to the front end when i put the shocks on. Improved the overall look of the truck IMO.

I put the 5100 bilsteins, front and rear on my truck. Happy as could be. Definitely soaks up the pot holes and ruts pretty good. Nice looking shock aslo.

I run bilstein 4600’s on my stock diesel and 5100’s on my lifted gassers. Have also ran Rancho’s but prefer Bilstein.

Bilstein 5100s are the way to go, I have had them on two trucks. I’ve ran fox 2.0s and broke 3/4 of them in 2 years, went back to the 5100s.

bilstein 5100 and level on my 1500. I wouldn’t describe it as plush but it does a decent job smoothing out rough roads.

Another bilstein guy here. 5100 in my tundra and she drives great.

figure out if you want to replace anything else while the shocks are out - speings, etc. and buy those. Also, make sure you know what height you want and measure the stock set if you need too. The guy that put mine in didn’t and I ended up with a bit of a lift I didn’t want.

Building shocks for a living is what my brother does . Built them for nascar to Lucas oil late models and off road racing. Bilstein are what he always told me are the best. Fox are just rebranded Penske if I remember right could be wrong on the brand not worth the money.

I put the bilstein 5100's on my truck before this hunting season and have been happy with them so far

I have the 2500 off road package Laramie. I believe these sit higher than the other stock 2500s. Will the 5100s work or does it need to be the 4600s. I’d like to get the truck leveled out while I’m at as well.

Another (y) for Bilsteins. Installed them on the front of my Ram 1500 and brought the front end up. Installed air bags in the rear. Much more capable and better handling truck.

You can order 5100s in stock or lifted variations (I believe up to 2”)
