Hello all,
I’m in the market for a safe and have become little overwhelmed with all the discussions on them. Every time I think I found one I want I get a bunch of bad reviews or don’t buy this one.
I get unless I’m spending thousands and thousands on a safe, residential safes are just “security containers”. I’m mostly wanting to secure everything in one location and keep my little ones and other general people away from them. Seems like even the big dollars ones can be broken into with a grinder and some time. My budget is roughly 1500-1000
I’m looking for a 30+ that is kind of middle of the road. I see a bunch of people with the ol’ TSC Winchester safes and they are on sale right now but it seems to be a hit or miss on the keypad having issues. One of the things I DO like about the Winchester is the backup key if the pad goes bad, which I guess would make it less secure but seems like liberty doesn’t have them.
Next safe I was looking at liberty ssfes. As much as I don’t agree with their business practice I do like that they are made in the US and seem to fall into my price range. I’ve read mixed reviews on their lower end stuff and not having a backup key is iffy if the lock fails but I would hope their pads would be better quality that this isn’t an issue.
thank you in advance
