So…we’re all dying to know - does CVA use Cosmoline in their muzzleloader barrels?Just sent a PM to a CVA rep I know. Hopefully he'll answer with what the correct corrosion inhibitor CVA uses.
Still waiting on Barry..................So…we’re all dying to know - does CVA use Cosmoline in their muzzleloader barrels?
On the other site, a poster there would totally disagree with you.Fact is they shoot a pressure test round thru every rifle and if it still functions they ship it. LOL
You try him...........
I think I will. He’s probably ignoring you….You try him...........![]()
I'd take it with a grain of salt. I work in the industry and have seen "function tested" firearms sent without extractors on them. This was from a company known for "higher quality" than the ones you got replies from and in your second set of companies you are waiting on replies for.I decided to take you up on this challenge. So far, Savage, Winchester, and Springfield Armory have replied. THEY EACH SAY EVERY RIFLE IS TEST FIRED FOR FUNCTION BEFORE IT LEAVES THE FACTORY.
I'll update as/if I get more replies from other companies. I also emailed Ruger, Remington, Weatherby, Christensen, Seekins, Howa and Henry. I figured that it would be enough.
To me it only makes sense they would use Vaseline! We are talking about CVA here! So…we’re all dying to know - does CVA use Cosmoline in their muzzleloader barrels?
Yeah, but they should apply it to the outside…..To me it only makes sense they would use Vaseline! We are talking about CVA here!

just here to say this dude needs to get laid or something.Well, I can tell you this..................... do yourself a favor and call CVA and ask them if each and every NEW rifle they sell have all been test fired. The answer I guarantee you're going to get is................ NO.
Why do I know this.............. Go over to the CVA FB site, which may have been the original Paramount site, and do a search. CVA/BPI answered that EXACT question, and it was.................. NO.
I'll also tell you this too............ Call the manufacturer of the factory rifles you've purchased and ask them the same question............ DO YOU TEST FIRE EVERY NEW PRODUCTION RIFLE BEFORE IT LEAVES THE MANUFACTURER? Guaranteed you'll get the identical answer. NO.
Can you even imagine the MASSIVE EXPENSES a manufacturer would have test firing every rifle they build???
Can you imagine the different number of bullets, let alone the different propellants and primers that would be involved in test firing EVERY new rifle? Muzzleloader or CF.
It’s not possible and it doesn't happen. Period.
To late...............just here to say this dude needs to get laid or something.
You’re already pregnant !?To late...............
