New Reticle in Credo

I shot the Credo HX 1-6x24 in Green Dot Hunter BDC reticle for a couple of days last week. I was evaluating it for suitability on our patrol rifles. The hash marks were dead nuts for 55 and 62 grain .223 out to 300. If I think about from a hunting a perspective, I believe I’d like it for applications where I was holding wind. The version I shot had capped turrets so dialing isn’t/wasn’t really on the table. I also didn’t bother paying attention to the MOA subtensions since they aren’t really relevant for LE use in the city. Now that I’m reading this, I realize this probably isn’t super helpful.

I will say I’d like the Power Dot for hunting for sure, but for close encounter, snap shooting it was too fine.

Had a 3-9 Credo and currently have a 2.5-15 Credo HX and neither fully go to the edge. Both SFP

I have a bunch of 3-9 and 2.5-15 credos and some Hurons and a bunch of their other scopes the reticles fill the fov, yes there are thicker bars on the edges but what are we talking here? Every sfp scope I’ve owned the reticle fills the FOV, now ffp the reticle only does that on the highest power no?

That reticle isn't tracking drops well with any of my loads in MOA zeroed at 100 yards (260, 6.5 PRC, 30-06). Maybe I'm being dumb.

What calibers and zeroes do you see the reticle drops lining up? I'm sure Trijicon had something fairly specific in mind? Otherwise it looks nice and clean.

Is it supposed to be zeroed at 200 ?

This reticle is a lot closer to what I would want... change the "drop comensation" lines to 8-10mil worth of simple 0.5mil hashes. They're so close.

I may have misunderstood what you were meaning.

The Credo’s I have/had the reticle doesn’t go completely to the edge of the FOV when looking through the scope.
Meaning the reticle looks like it’s “floating”from the center out.
I thought this is what you meant.

Negative. I own several Credos and Credo HX SFP scopes with simple duplex reticles where the “cross hairs” do not extend all the way to the outer edge of the FOV, including the thicker outer lines.

Why do scope makers keep putting out reticles with these ridiculous wind holds? You could take this scope out and shoot in a very realistic 5mph wind and quickly come to the conclusion that 5moa reference points are only slightly better than nothing at all.
