Anyone have any experience with these boots from nicks? I used to fight fires and I loved my nicks hotshots. I’m curious to know how these do compared to Jim greens

I looked at them but can’t get past the price tag. And Nicks really pissed me off the last time I had my smoke jumpers rebuilt

Can you get them with a steel toe? I wonder if I could use them for railroading. Have my doctor sign a thing saying I need a zero drop...

I plan to try a pair, but it won’t be soon. I’m really curious of the Sierra slim sole. If it’s the same Sierra vibram sole that’s on my Jim greens. Also curious on the last they were built on.

If they come with a viable outsole, I’d buy them over Jim greens.

Also curious what nicks charges for a resole.

I had my whites resoled and new lower leather (heel/toe caps) a few years back and it was around $200 I want to say. It was basically half the cost of the boots themselves when I bought them.

Yeah the price tag is… pricey. I think they’re essentially what I paid for my last pair of nicks for fire but without all the extra work they do building an arch, heel stack etc. largely just the upper, vamp and a flat vibram sole. Im not sure how durable Jim greens or the vivo forest trackers are however and I do like buying boots that last which is why I loved my nicks and whites back in the day.
