It is good to see that MR has made some positive changes to their packs in terms of improving the frame and lightening the packs. Innovation and competition benefits us all.

Wonder if they will sell the pack bags separately or make you buy a full system.

Interesting, I wonder why they ditched the trizip. that "around the top panel loader" access is being used by Kelty, REI, Arcteryx, and everyone else under the sun.
can't tell if it is just the flavor of the week or what we will be seeing for the next decade.

They still have a tri-zip bag.

yes, and they are releasing several more on the backpacking/urban side of things when they go retail. I was just referring to the Scapegoat pack, panel loading is just a little out of character. The trizip is not only a great design but also crazy distinctive branding; I'm surprised they are willing to give that up on that particular pack.

Gotcha. I can't remember where I seen it now but they have a new bag that's basically the Longbow for this new frame.

Yea, as I remember it the new line included clones of all the old designs (with new names) and this panel loader, which looks to me like a straight-up reproduction of the SG solo.

So do you think this new trizip will be taller than the longbow to where it attaches to the frame? That way if I put it on a Kifaru frame it would go all the way to the bottom.

It looked to be about the same size. It may be bigger, or smaller, but I doubt much in either direction.

It looked to me that where the bags attached to the new frame would be at the same height as the old NICE frame, as it seems the only difference that I can see is some fabric is removed and the lifters are attached. I was hoping that the actual bag attachment would be a little taller. There were some things about the Mystery Ranch that I really liked.

correct, this is what I saw as well. Pretty sure they want everything to be backward-compatible.

There was a picture on instagram yesterday from "montanawild" that had a pic of the new frame and what appears to be the new metcalf or whatever they are calling it. I would post a link but I don't know how.

looks pretty hokey to me lol
I'm guessing it's a prototype frame. No attachment points on the hipbelt? Lames. The frame itself looks like an old alice frame.

I doubt anything will compare to the new Kifaru duplex frame that's like buttah.
