Finally got drawn (3rd choice) for a bull tag in New Mexico, Unit 52 (muzzleloader during late rut, hopefully).....which I'm hearing/reading is a volume unit (having one of the largest herds in New Mexico), with patience being the key to finding a 275 - 300" class bull. Is this a realistic expectation if I put in the work? If anyone is willing to share general information via PM, I would be grateful, as I have limited time to scout this year given a new addition to the family.

I have been learning a lot from this great site - I'm new to backpack hunting and have been using other's experiences/teachings to assemble my gear. All my previous hunts (Nevada - ELK, Utah - Deer, Colorado - Elk, and Arizona Kaibab - Deer) have been from camp near the truck.

THANKS!
