We are in the process of changing the public draw. The majority of New Mexico hunters are in agreement that the outfitter set aside of 10% of the tags should be eliminated. To allocate more tags to residents and non-residents alike, we are suggesting that 90% of the tags go to residents and 10% of the tags be allocated to non-residents. New Mexico has a four year cycle to review all big game rules. We are currently in the review year so we can get this done with the support of our Attorney General and state legislature. Our primaries are in June so it is imperative that we contact our state legislators now. If you are a New Mexico resident hunter please contact your local state representative and senator.
