I posted a thread because it is hard to weed through this one but glad for those who drew a tag.

I will be doing another DIY trophy bull hunt again this year. The unit is about as good as it gets for trophy bull elk in NM.

Finally drew my first choice for deer. Some bucks in that unit are dragging their balls and havin a hard time keeping their heads up. Finally I get a crack at ‘em.

They will put it all back on your card. I don’t think it takes all but a few days to show up in your account.

I can’t complain as a resident. My family pulled 1 archery e/s, 1 muzzy bull, and 1 rifle cow. 3/25 on total applications this year, and we should still be able to get an encouragement cow tag for my son who blanked on everything, including javelina.

I feel the same as you between me and my stepson 5/14. Both got a deer and javelina. I got an elk.

Got very lucky and drew my second choice for elk. I'll be there with my horses for an early October rifle bull hunt. Super excited for this hunt!

Yeah that's crazy, You have 2 pretty cool tags. Mine is the general season Montana so I will probably turn it back in, I don't believe I get any points back. Do you plan on doing any preseason scouting? I am going to try to make some time to Get down there And scout but 34 for such a great unit I don't know if it's necessary lol

Yea, Montana general can be a decent tag too, I was there last year. As far as scouting, I will try to get there a few days early, but that’s about all I can do...I’m 23 hours away! One of my coworkers hubands drew Valle Vidal. Also a once in a life time tag.

I used to waste applications on Valles Caldera, but it is a fools game as it takes away from a real shot.

This year I didn’t do any everything was just regular draft but next year I have more tags I’m gonna put in for so I’m sure I’ll be breaking into the credit card
