New MDT Mountain and Backcountry Bipods Shot Show 2025

Much much better with the felt feet. We will see how they hold up, I’m thinking I need a second pair on backup.

This bipod is very ckye pod like in terms of stability. I’d put it as very stable in the lower collapsed positions to easy to torque when set up high.

Goes plenty high for 6 ounces.

Zero stick on a wood bench. Almost like a sled foot. If you want something like an atlas foot may be worth it to try the sticky foot.

Might have to cancel my order. Have you ordered from that site. Looks suspicious given that all the major vendors are back ordered and definitely not discounting. I did get a first responder discount through MDT. I was shocked they charge to ship expensive 5oz items.

Dozens of times. One of my go to drop shippers as they don't charge tax and usually ship fast. For anything gun or hunting related, if you have a part number or UPC, throw it in the search at gun.deals and save $$$.

Edit to add that MDT is out of stock, but major distributors that sites like these pull from are not. It won't ship from MDT, it will ship from a distributor who has received a shipment of them already.

Thanks. I looked up a bunch of threads on them. Will definitely utilize them in the future. I wanted the MDT mountain and that is actually out of stock on gunzonedeals and the backcountry doesn't specify picatinny vs arca. I have an LRH that has a pic on the front. I would switch it for a arca but don't want full length and don't like the idea of it riding on a short length of arca. I like the security of the pic notches if it gets loose it still won't slide off. Kind of made my bed and have to lay now.

Appreciate the heads up on the gonzone though. Already found a couple things for good deals.

Ah yeah the backcountry is picatinny only and does not have leg splay adjustment like the mountain. I got the Mountain through that website a couple weeks ago, it does appear out of stock everywhere now.

Besides cost, what’s the reason to go with the backcountry over the mountain if you have arca on your rifle? Seems the mountain bipod is more adjustable, arca rail compatible, only 0.6oz heavier, taller and shorter configuration. Seems like a no brainer from a quick glance.

Yeah, I definitely wanted the leg splay. I'd prefer to have more adjustments than limited to the height of the telescoping

Durable multifunctionality comes at the penalty of weight unfortunately, even when using exotic materials.

Can you explain why you feel that way?

Thanks for the write up.
I don’t like spiked feet. The grab the ground and create a fulcrum causing muzzle rise. On top of that it becomes harder to get torque free when making small adjustments on the fly. Ideally I want my bipod to slide straight back with my rifle during recoil.

I ordered the last Mountain, pic rail version I could find. Went ahead and ordered the felt/rubber feet from Anarchy as well. I’m way late to the light weight bipod game as I’ve been rocking the good ole Harris on everything. Looking to save about half a pound.
