New MDT Mountain and Backcountry Bipods Shot Show 2025

Just got a mountain bipod coming to try out for hunting, I have been using a lightweight single pull ckye pod. I own a few different versions of the ckye pod for competition use. Very excited about this lightweight "version" with similar functionality.

I was hoping to use it for nrl and PRs sportsmans division. Sure easy to make weight when your bipod weighs a pound less.
I don't know if I personally would use it for competition use if I didn't have to, we have a pretty good graveyard of bipods that have died in competition that were a lot tougher than these. Sportsmans division in PRS is much more forgiving at 13lbs, I can make weight with a 7-35 ATACR and a single pull ckye pod.

PRS includes the mag though. I also add a pound to the muzzle which dosnt help me any.

Either way hopefully it’s a good hunting bipod.

Thankfully the mag is weighed empty. Yeah I have been running a salmon river TI5 to help with a 13lb rifle and be competitive.

I got it thinking I might use it for nrl to try and get down under 12. But after putting my 12 lb gun on it, it feels a little on the fragile side. Haven’t actually played around with it at the range but just first impressions. Excited to hunt with it though

First impression for me is I like it. I think it’s going to be a winner. No pan, feels fairly solid and very adjustable.

The only thing I worry about is breaking the leg splay adjustment button.

I don’t think I’d put it on my 25lb PRS rifle but I do plan to use it for everything else.

And for 5oz, why not for hunting.

Decently stiff bipod. Really not a fan of the spiked foot. Not a fan of any spiked feet so I’m not surprised. Got a set of the anarchy outdoors rubber/felt feet coming.

I'd like to hear your thoughts on the rubber feet from Anarchy when you get them. I'm not sure I'd like the spikes that came on the Mountain Bipod either.

Do the replacement feet slip over the existing or are the existing easily removed?
The existing have a small bolt pinching them on. The aftermarket are supposed to be slip on the tube. My plan is to slip them on with a little silicon in case I want to remove them. Really not a fan of spiked feet at all and these are spiked enough to act like a grabber.

I’m waiting on anarchy outdoors for some rubber/felt feet, I’ll be sure to comment when they arrive.

I also see little reason one couldn’t grind down the spike and attach any rubber foot they want.

Shot mine this morning and on the bench the spikes are awful. Did you go with the felt rubber or sticky rubber feet?

I wonder if one could cut off the claws then plastidip the factory feet for a similar effect?

what is really like to see is an atlas style foot, that’s bigger than leg diameter for wide splay. Atlas feet are about what I like for lack of stick in anything.

Got them in the mail today. They are light! Definitely don’t add weight. Feels like a flexible 3d printed product hard to explain, almost has the texture of one of those little foam balls nerf guns shoot. It just pressed on. Not convinced on leaving it as is, I may use a little silicon to keep it on but going to test it pressed on for now, looks like they built a slight taper into the rubber.
