the revisions MDT made to the mountain bipod actually make it look a little more stout.
I have the previous version and it’s fine, just doesn’t look as stout as the new one.

Does anyone actually use and like the pan feature? I'm intrigued by the cheaper one.. but I don't want it to pan. Never liked the feature but maybe I'm missing something.

I was about to buy the mountain bipod but kinda wondering the same thing, coming from Spartan, if the leg splay stuff is really worth the squeeze. Ditto on pan, would prefer to just adjust setup than that.

I’m in the same boat, I never use pan on any bipods and really don’t care for it. I had talked to the Matt who owned/owns mtn gear and he was able to use an adjustable grub screw to lockout the pan feature. This could still be a possibility with the mdt rendition. It’s been a fantastic bipod for me and surprisingly stable for the lightweight package it is.WhatsApp Image 2024-01-14 at 17.51.17.jpeg

I hunted with my Cyke pod the last few years, I keep the pan locked, and love how it splays open for different positions
