Swarovski gets the love for their balance of quality, performance excellence and repair service, but Leica still offers some of the finest glass made. Their color rendition is unmatched.

I spent about 30 minutes at the Jagd and Hund Dortmund 2025 show talking to one of their engineers from Portugal. They are trying to be on the pulse of American hunters. The engineer was not a hunter, but he was surprisingly well versed.

Their Amplus 3-18 is revolutionary in delivering a quality optic for a decent price.

How is leica’s warranty and customer service

In the last few years my Leica CS experience has been great.

Not sure about Leica USA. I’ve owned a Leica spotting scope without issue, and love my Trinovid 10x42BA ‘s. Lately tried to spend some money with Leica Sport Optics USA and get one of their Leica Fortis rifle scopes to try out. I had a couple of their Leica/Leupold collaborations 3.5-10X42MM that were high quality. Tried a couple of the Amplus but was underwhelmed . Had some issues with Leica’s USA service department over the years but the service department seems to have resolved most of their issues the past 3-4 years. The Leica team just seems to be low energy here in the USA. I tried to find a Leica Fortis matte finished 1.8-12X42i a $2000+ scope , after no luck I contacted the Leica sales rep on RS. His response was keep looking on a Leica website , they never showed up! I asked the USA rep on here to locate one for me, crickets. After waiting 2 months I decided to just update all of my main hunting rifles with Schmidt Benders. Leica just doesn’t act like the American optics market is important to them.
