This is a fanboy piece for sure.
Maybe JH autographs them or leaves some DNA on them to make them worth $6k?

I wouldn't label it the POS that some of you guys are, but I would agree that I don't see the 6k value in it.
It's overpriced, I agree with everyone on that but I bet they sell everyone of them.
I'm not really a Remington fan at this point but the custom shop turns out some pretty good stuff. A old KS or a AWR is nothing like a SPS. Remington's TI actions are pretty nice too.
Manners stock and proof barrel, both pretty top notch. I bet they shoot. Comparing this to a Kimber or a tikka is laughable.
I won't be owning one and you could build better for less but it's hardly a POS.
Although from the sounds of it everybody else has hundreds of rounds thru this thing already. Can you guys that have considerable experience with this rifle post up your targets?
I'm getting one..... first thing I plan to do is dip the stock in Kryptek
A guy has a brake on a .06? Really?. mtmuley
I haven't been paying any attention to Remington's sales lately, but between their declining quality and failures to give customers the options they want, this seems like a desperate attempt to remain relevant and make a few bucks to balance out losses.
Howa's Alpine Mountain rifle weighs 5.7 lbs compared to this ones 5.6, but runs around $1,000 instead of $6,000. I'll carry the extra 0.1 lb for that price.
It shouldn't have much recoil though, I don't have a brake on my 6.5, but I do on my .30-06. Shooting reduced recoil loads, 125 gr @ 2,800 fps (approximately a 6.5 Creedmoor load), it has barely any more recoil than my .223 when shot back to back with the same model rifles.
One could say that about most things though. Folks have been hunting in jeans, flannel, frame pack and a wood stocked blued rifle; for a long time......and it works just fine.
