Interesting, I have the superdown hooded which worked really well for me last year but am not loving Kuiu the company as much as I used to. I was surprised how close in price this was to the superdown but I'm still interested. Hopefully it's a little warmer than the superdown. I was looking at the first lite puffy but its so heavy comparitevly. Anyway seems like a cool option to go with the other kryptek I've got.

Introducing for Fall 2014 the Aquillo Down Jacket.

This extremly lightweight jacket features Hyper Dry Extreme Water Resistant Down. 800 fill power 90/10.

Total Garment Weight: 0.77LBS
Additional Features:
Interior Chest Pocket
Packable Handwarmer Pocket with Silicon Carabineer
Adjustable Waist and Hood
Lycra Wrist cuffs for Comfort[/B]

I hope the shell is a little tougher than the superdown as well

Hope the price of that is more than the one i just bought so i dont feel bad hahaha

about time they came out with a down one instead of just synthetic. looks nice

I'll post up all the specs and testing info when I get home. I will say that our goal (and we achieved it) was to introduce a warmer version than what's available on the market now (for puffy jackets anyway). That's with the weight of the garments being equal when tested.

That looks sweet saw that on krypteks facebook page today they also said there was some other updates for 2014 I wonder if that's gear or patterns?

6oz lighter with 3.5 oz of down fill....that's pretty dang light for the warmth/insulation value.

Not saying it's not but the OP compared it to the Kuiu which is right around 7 oz isn't it? So this is right in between the Kuiu and the FL as far as weight goes.

He also hoped it would be warmer (added insulation), and it is/does.

I'm not saying it isn't and don't disagree with anything you posted. Just bringing up the weight compared to the other jackets that were mentioned. Looks like a quality jacket and I'd like to get my hands on one for sure.

Have you played with the uncompaghre yourself Aron? How does it cut the wind and compare durability wise (asking about the Kryptek piece)?

Won't take to much searching to see that I highly recommend the FL puffy, so yes, I've used it a lot.

The FL jacket compared to the Kryptek or Kuiu is oranges and apples. The FL is a hybrid puffy and in a different field then the others.

Not defensive..... if you were here, you'd hear me laughing.

You're not crabby that I got a rifle from Kifaru Arms are you? Is that why you're arguing over simple math?

Sure haven't! Hence why I asked your opinion in how it compared to the FL as I've used mine a ton ever since they shipped out the early prototypes. Never claimed to use both and not sure why you're gettin a bit defensive on the subject...?
