New Kimber Mountain Ascent 799 bucks

What's funny is that in any sort of post-purchase (like post-mortem) rabbit hole I go down, there isn't a lot to be said about the Kimber Mountain Ascent Peak. Plenty to be said about Montanas, regular Mountain Ascents, and Hunters, but not much for the Peak series.

That alone tells me that maybe this configuration wasn't super popular. Whether that's due to stock geometry or other reasons are yet to be determined. That being said, I have a feeling that now that there are about to be A LOT more of these in the wild, we'll see new reports on them and what great value they are. At least that's what I'm telling myself after whipping out the credit card "for investment reasons."

Between what I already know about the platform(s), both Kimber and HS Precision, I have a feeling that these were a deal that shouldn't be passed up.

The 84Ms in 6.5 CM for whatever reason seem to be inexplicably accurate, you fellas should be in for a treat.

Factory fodder 143 ELDX and 147 ELDM. I've been around a few and they all love both of those loads

I've been looking for a stock with better geometry for my Kimber Hunter. I was hoping they were going to do a RokStok lite for it, but between the stocks coming in well over weight for the other inlets and their insufferably slow process, I started looking around. I shoot the Hunter well, but I'm hoping this is a little faster/better. Hard to pass up for $800

30-06 is currently available on PSA. Looking at the weight it’s 6#+. Were the long actions always this heavy? Basically at tikka weight

If 30/06 was still in stock I’d already have ordered it. .270 is tempting though. Can anyone honestly say this is that much of a better buy than a tikka superlite?

That's a tough one. If I had to bet money a rifle would shoot lights out, id go Tikka, but when you get a Kimber that shoots, no one will ever convince me a better mountain rifle exists.

I've got 11 Kimbers, they all shoot well, the least accurate is about a 2" 10 shot gun, the most accurate is right around 1" for 10. Only 2 required tinkering and minimal tinkering at that

Never seen them that cheap.
I have a $800 Hunter, it shoots sub moa and it weighs 5 lb, 6 oz with the scope.
That's something no other rifle can do unless its $$$.

Last thing I need is another .270, but that’s gonna be hard to pass up. I’m actively trying to talk myself out of it at the moment.
Welp….i debated long enough that the .270s sold out. Now Im pissed I didn’t grab one of them.
