That's a grande lid! And it's probably the only Kifaru item that Aron won't be able to cut the straps off of.

If the lid is what has been shown on the FB page a couple of times, looks like its a Kifaru version of the MR daypack lid (but tab loops so the two belt pouches can be removed if needed). I'm guessing its more than just 2 sets of tab loops cause that's too close to the longhunter lid.

Mini belt pouch may be the stash-it's replacement? Be nice to have a 4 PALS mountable belt pouch, so you can use it on the xing/xray sides. A nice alternative to 2 quart pouches that are PALS only.

The MR and Kifaru can both be worn as a backpack, but that's about all they have in common.

Aron does It have any internal pockets or is it one big one. Also I noticed the tab loops on top. How did you guys combat the floppy characteristic of putting pockets on top of the Lid which was the concern with the LH lid.

Well looks like one big pocket unfortunately.

Different strokes for different folks, but I prefer one big pocket! One can segregate their gear inside the lid with little dry bags or the pockets your can buy from Kifaru.

I was referring to the dual lid pockets (sewn in on MR lid, removable on Kifaru lid).

Depending on the size of the mini belt pouch I'll be picking up some of those to replace my HPG 16 bottle holders. The mini belt pouch should offer more versatility and compact down a lot more.

I'm interested to see if the bottle pouch can be configured to hold something other than a 32/48 oz nalgene.

The lid in the photos was my prototype that I used for the last few months. The final version has one set of tab loops, as two pockets flopped around to much.

The water bottle pocket can hold any bottle smaller than a 32 oz Nalgene. We've has everything from monster energy drinks in it to the small Camelback water bottles.

Yes, the Guide Lid is ONE big pocket. We tried several different styles during testing, but to keep the weight under a pound and still be able to fit rain gear/jackets inside, this was the best out of all we tested.

Gotcha. Thanks for clearing that up.

How many PALS columns wide is the bottle holder? 2?
