New Idaho draw system.

Gotta say, $185 to enter the draw is a bit steep... especially going in blind without knowing draw odds/statistics. Be curious to see the stats whenever they come out
Pretty sure your application number will indicate number of applications they have received so far.

I logged in about 50 times in order to figure out the system and put in my choices. So I'm sure that the number that pops up are not adjusted to "unique visitor" queries. I'm sure I'm not alone. Also, add in the logins that are logging their hunt reports. I think the number is much lower than people think.

That doesn't give me any idea of the chances of drawing a particular hunt code tho.
Listen to the Hunt Backcountry podcast, IDFG breaks it all down....we really dont know the draw odds. You might have a general sense if there are only 5 tags. But otherwise we really won't know until we get a couple yrs of data

I'll give it a listen...

Yeah, less tags and higher success rates from previous years will likely be the more difficult ones to draw. The "unknown" made me want to jump in to the draw this year but after seeing that $185 just for the license got me thinking twice. That, coupled with the fact that I have some plans already for 2026, got me thinking I'm going to sit this one out. It'll be interesting to see how Idaho shakes out over the next few years. Doubt it will get any cheaper

Just finished my tag application. Was on phone with hunting partner helping each other walk through it. His site locked up so I added him to mine and became a group of 2. Bad enough to have to purchase license but they soak you for the depredation fee and convenience fees for a total of $204.97 just so you can apply.

Cha-chiiing. Good luck on the draw!

Tell you what, sure is good to not hear that hold music right now
