Hey guys, I am excited to shoot my new setup. Weatherby Vanguard .270 with a Vortex Diamondback HP. Anyone else shoot a Weatherby?

My dad has a Vanguard in .300 WM for his "out west" gun (from WI). I shoot it for deer when I go home for Thanksgiving. Great gun, to me it feels much more solid/well built compared to some of the other budget guns out there.

I've had a couple of Weatherby Vanguards and a couple more Howa 1500s they're built on....all solid guns and great shooters. The Howa folks do machine work as good and clean as anyone in the business and better than most.

My .257WBY was a stunning shooter.

Are Howa rifles made in the Moruko factory of Japan ?

No, Howa is a different entity than Miroku.

Miroku makes several products for Browning and typically does excellent machine work as well. They produce the A-bolt, X-bolt and a lot of the Winchester and Browning reproductions products like the 1886 and M71s.

Howa has made the Smith and Wesson 1500 rifles, the Weatherby Vaguards, as well as components for several folks.
