Well, after sitting on the shelf for nearly a decade I pulled out my old GoLite Shangri la 5 pyramid and decided I was going to make use of it. I'd only only used it on one occasion - cook tent on an expedition to climb Denali and it functioned great. After a long sheep hunt in a tiny lightweight tent, I decided I needed a bit more room and ability to heat it up. Ordered up a large titanium stove from Seek Outside and a stove jack. Had it sewn into the tent and voile! Hot tent with 100 sq ft of space to stretch out. The whole setup tipped scales without the pole at 5.3 lbs and could probably sleep 3 people with some or all gear inside.
Headed off on another sheep hunt next week and then moose camp... I will report back with some findings from the field.
