New guy here ... have been gathering knowledge from you folks for quite some time so thanks for that.

Just sold my Christensen MPR in .223 (I know a lot of people dislike CA but it's a hammer—1/4 MOA with 69-grain SMKs) and I'm about to order an MPA Custom Ultra Lite Hunter Rifle in 6 creed.

Will update here as things move along ... this is my first semi-custom rifle and I'm super excited about it. I have worn myself out researching two dozen different rifles but feel confident this will be bad medicine for coyotes and steel out to 800 or so which is all the distance we have on the ranch.

I have no affiliation with MPA but FWIW I found a 15% discount code—PRECISION2026. Cost to my door is $2690 which is way more than I have ever spent on a rifle but I think it will be worh it.

You’ll love it! I have an MPA in 6 ARC and it hammers. I also have a Seekins Havak PH2 in 6 creed that I love. Can’t go wrong either way!

Thanks! I love the new Seekins rifles, too. Almost bought an Element Hunter but $3200 was hard to swallow knowing how much rifle I could get from MPA for less.

Seekins rifles are good on paper but it seems more complaints about them than any other gun being made right now. Just scroll through RS. On the Seekins Facebook groups there are constant posts by guys having problems with their guns. Everybody is like “send it back bro, they are awesome, they will take care of you”…..Seekins is literally the vortex of hunting rifles right now.

Interesting. I watched a video the other day from some "expert" who polled a bunch of gun owners and concluded Fierce and Christensen have the most issues and Seekins has among the fewest. But that's good feedback to know because I was/am pondering selling my Christensen 280 AI bolt gun and picking up a Seekins Element or Element Hunter at some point in the future.

I have close to 3k rounds through my Havak PH2, which really isn’t many. I did have a problem with my bolt decocking on me, but that was it. They sent me a new bolt body and fixed it right up. No other issues with mine.

Fierce and Christensen are absolutely known entities in the “brands to avoid” category. Seekins always claims that they send out so many rifles that the number of complaints is really a small percentage and they may be telling the truth. However, the Facebook groups aren’t encouraging, accuracy issues, function issues, Seekins seems to take care of everybody but the sure does seem like there are a lot of problems.

My Seekins story (and I apologize since this isn’t a Seekins thread), I had a Havak element, I researched a ton, figured it was what I wanted so sold a few guns, bought the Seekins at full retail ~ 2700 dollars. It shot fairly well but it just felt cheap, the build it up like the stock is all high tech, it’s just a plastic stock with a cool paint job. A few seasons ago, I shot a black bear at about 400yds, I went to chamber another round and the whole bolt came out of the gun.

I got it back together and it all worked out but after that the bolt could freely come out of the rifle when chambering around or whatever.

Upon inspection the raceway on the bolt had be gouged into a ramp so the bolt stop simply didn’t stop it.

Seekins sent a whole new bolt assembly and was all apologetic and said it’s a common problem, easy fix, no big deal…..yeah no big deal that my 2700 dollar rifle needs to be repaired after its first trip out.

This attitude from these companies really pisses me off, they offer great service but send crap out the door. Lone wolf glock barrels is another, I ha done that wouldn’t feed, I contacted them, same thing “oh it’s an easy fix, just send it in….on my dime, and we will fix it, you’ll have it back in a few weeks”…..thanks but I just want my money back, if it’s such an easy fix, and a known issue, why the **** are you taking peoples money and sending it out the door?

Rant over….
