I've been lurking for a while...finally started planning my first backpack elk hunt in CO and figured that it was a good time to get involved. I grew up and currently live in the Catskill Mountains of upstate NY. I've been hunting turkey, deer, and small game most of my life...just started bear hunting a few years ago as the bear population around me has increased greatly since I started hunting initially. I am a NYS Bowhunter Ed Instructor. Aside from hunting, I do a lot of fishing and enjoy camping(I need to do more of this).

To say that I am excited for my elk hunt this fall would be an understatement. It will be a two man diy backpack first rifle season trip.
