New developments coming this summer

Ordered a couple different sizes of the mid layer, returned the ones that didnt fit. It took a minute to get my refund but it went through. Cannot speak on exchange process/timeline

The exchange process was slow, but I eventually received my replacements, which fit me well.

Overall, I’m satisfied with the products, and not having to wear a belt is a game changer.

I agree with the critiques about the pockets. They’re a bit small for my liking, and I miss having a zipper on the rear pockets.

The jacket shipment is scheduled to arrive around 10/22-23. Should be able to start shipping orders starting 10/27. If we can get going 10/24 we will.
Fingers crossed. I too was had my order in within minutes of pre-order opening. Hope to have it before I leave November 5th for my Muley trip.

I got an email this afternoon saying they will ship early next week.

I forgot about this thread and was very interested in it when it came out. I was hoping that they would follow the path of SG and make an inseam longer than 34. But going on their website I see a tall is a 34. So, I guess I will stay with SG. But I am going to keep watching.
Sweet

Ordered 10/24 and got tracking today.
Also did the try before you buy after experiencing there return timeframe. I look forward to trying it out.

Dang, well done! I ordered mine the morning they released, but haven’t gotten a tracking notification.

To be fair, I don’t need it immediately, so hitting the stack later is fine with me and maybe they’ll get lucky and ship some out to folks that need them ASAP.

Damn that’s kind of lame,
maybe it’s the size and color I ordered based on shipments

I ordered large Chimera

With all the delays on the jacket shipping and returns/exchanges taking so long I decided to wait until the dust settles. I figure after all the initial orders go through, they will be a lot faster at getting these things out the door, so for now SG Grumman it is.

I'll be interested to hear how everyone likes the fit and construction once these jackets start arriving. Thinking based on what's been told thus far I will want a Large, but I figure that I can gauge that from feedback here and not have to deal with another exchange.

Tracking shows mine hit the post office Thurs. Wasn't accepted until Saturday. Then I got a shipping delayed notice, now arriving this Friday, two days after I leave to Colorado. That's frustrating. Damn you USPS. 😂

Got mine Saturday. I usually wear a large and got a large in this and the fit is good. Room to layer under but not huge. Good loft. I'll be keeping it. No feedback on actual use yet but at least first impressions on fit are good.

Same here - first impressions are good. Packing it in next week for 3rd rifle but so far temps are looking pretty mild

Used the pants and the mid-layer last week Elk and Mule Deer hunting in northern New Mexico. Both pieces are fantastic. Put the midlayer on in the morning and took it off maybe once during the day. Excellent ability to regulate temperature. All zipped up with the hood it is surprisingly warm. Had my pack on for a lot of walking and never showed any pilling. The pants are equally great. Got home over the weekend and my puffy was delivered today (didn't need it last week anyway). Really nice and well thought out. Bought a large and the fit is exactly what I want from a large (kinda in line with Kuiu sizing).

My puffy arrived yesterday and initial impressions are very positive. I've had a Kuiu Super Down Pro the past two years so that's what I have to compare it to.

I decided to try the OV because I haven't been overly impressed with the Kuiu in terms of wind resistance and general warmth even when its not super cold. When i hold the Kuiu up, you can see a lot of light come through it, especially near the stitching. There's still a little light that comes through the OV at the baffle seams but it's a fraction of the Kuiu. With that said, I haven't tried them side by side in any cold conditions.

The face fabric on the OV seems more durable than the Kuiu but since these are primarily stationary jackets I wouldn't anticipate having issues with either one.

As far as fit goes, the OV fits me much better but it's not really a fair comparison because they're two different sizes. I'm 6'5", 205 and I was wearing the Kuiu in an XL in order for the arms to fit but it was too bulky/baggy in the body. I goth the OV in a Large/Tall and just like everything else I've ever worn in a L/T it fits perfectly. Arms are the perfect length and the jacket covers about half my ass when I'm standing up. Plenty of length to keep your lower back covered when sitting and leaning forward. I'd say the sizing chart is spot on.

The cut of the hoods on both pieces are nice and they draw down around your face to cover everything but your nose and eyes, no clear winner there IMO. The zipper on the Kuiu seems a little more robust but there's nothing wrong with the zipper on the OV and it's lighter weight which goes along with the whole goal of this piece I suppose.

I'll update more when temps drop.
