New cook stove on the market

I actually have something to clarify since there is so much controversy debate over my preferences - I'm almost exclusively a backpacker. That probably accounts for the difference in gear philosophy. I enjoy it more and can hunt further in for much longer. I rarely camp next to the truck or trailhead, and I'll carry my full camp 2-4 miles in and drop off the majority of my gear at camp. I'll carry in enough supplies for about 4-7 days, up to 2 weeks, and my pack has weighed anywhere from 60-80 pounds in years past. Going back to the truck to resupply is a full day hike to and back, so running out of fuel is a real concern for me. I do carry in extra fuel, but I've also run out and don't want to spend a full day to go resupply. I'll carry in a couple extra pounds if it keeps me out there a few days longer.

If I was going back to the truck every night and had a full base camp set up, I probably would be looking for the lightest and simplest stoves possible because I'd only be concerned with carrying around enough food for the day and eating out of a cooler in the morning and night. I wouldn't be concerned with running out of fuel because I'd have more in the truck and swap it out. I pack my backpack with as much contingency as I can plan for so I can stay out as long as possible to focus on hunting. If I lose/break/forget something, hopefully I have redundancy or ability to craft it. I'm not wasting a full day to go get extra tent stakes when I can "bushcraft" them in a couple minutes.

There’s no controversy except in your mind.

It’s just different.
That’s all just different.

Neither way is good or bad.

Like men or women.
Pepsi vs Coke
Etc etc

It’s just different.

So there for what you want in a stove maybe different then what other people want.

But believe it or not I highly doubt I’ll starve to death if my stove goes down and I can only eat my non hot water for x amount of days.
Sure it may not be quite as enjoyable. But I’ll sustain life none the less.

Right, that's my point. If there's no context we can't actually agree with what is better for the situation. I'm not worried about starving to death, I'm concerned with being too miserable to stay out there. I've also been stormed in solo for 2 days longer than I planned for in a mid season hunt, and I was legitimately concerned with my supplies running out. My gear was also soaked and frozen. If I couldn't make fire, that would have been a legitimate life threatening situation.

I’ve got enough fat, long as I have water. I should be good for an extra 3 weeks no problem.
