Is there any info on when these new X-Bolt speeds SR's will be available? I can't seem to find any info other than new for 2022...Have been waiting for 20" 6.8 Western to be available and this x-bolt looks perfect. Would love to have it for this season, but would also love to gets some practice down range before taking into the field. Does anyone know of other suppressor ready shorter barrels chambered for 6.8 Western?

I called Browning and asked them this question. They said something along the lines of they might ship some out to some calibers to certain dealers at some point possibly in the fall. They gave me a list of dealers to call and the dealers were about as definitive as Browning.

Interesting... Thank you for the reply!
I wonder if that'll be the same for the xbolt mountain pros in the 6.8. I could deal with the 24" barrel if I was gaining the upgrades it offers. Would love to be using one of those this fall.

Is that what you are looking for? The mountain pro should be easier to find because the speed sr was a shot show special that was initially a limited run that had to he pre-ordered. It sounds like the earliest they are arriving in stores is sometime in the fall.

I would definitely be down with the mountain pro. Would love to see one hit a store...only seeing a couple on Gunbroker that are in some serious bidding wars and pushing 3k.

What's the point of these companies bringing something to the Shot Show if it's not available to the market?

Browning Ovix SR
Christensen Ridgeline FFT
Bergara Canyon

All "unveiled" at the 2022 Shot Show, yet none are available for purchase going into the 5th month of 2022. Stupid.

I reached out to Browning last week about the 6.5 PRCs and 6.8 Westerns. They said there should be a run in mid-October.

I’ve also seen some 6.5 Creedmoors available online, so it looks like at least some are hitting the market

I feel your pain! I'd be interested in all the above if I could actually get my hands on them.

We do live in uncharted times, however. A never-seen-before, broken worldwide supply chain, massive inflation, an economy that is crashing and the highest fuel prices in history. Heck, some states are still hanging on to pandemic protocols, too.

All comes together to form a perfect (shit) storm. I'd love to blame manufacturers for this but we all know that they are not responsible.

I'll keep waiting, though! Perhaps we will see these new rifles in 7 PRC not long after we get them in 6.8 Western. One can hope!

I just picked up the Ovix Speed SR in .308 yesterday. The gunshop I purchased it at also had one in 6.5 Creedmoor (ugh). The owner said they were very hard to come buy and that he had ordered ones in .223, .22-250, .308, 6.5 Creedmoor, and .300 Win mag. And all he got was .308 and .6.5.

I saw on on gunbroker today.....how do you like it? Does the fit and finish seem nice?

I don't like the Ovix finish. I get it, midwest -west its makes sense but in the South/East not so much. I like the Old Hell's Canyon camo. As far as shooting it without a 'can' its an absolute tack driver out of the box. I was shooting quarter sized groups easily. I can see the .223 or .22-250 and a beast of a varmint rifle. My son shoots the Browning Xbolt Micro Composite and its roughly the same size when sized next to each other.

I just bought the XBolt Speed SR (suppressor ready) 20” barrel in 6.8 Western. I bought it from Sportsman’s Warehouse. They have an option to ship to FFL or to your local store.

It’s the Ovix camo or whatever their calling it. Nice looking gun. 6# plus change. Haven’t shot it yet. Waiting for glass and scope rings to show up.

I’ve only found Winchester ammo. Their copper bullet (160 something grains) and the 175? Gr silver tip. I was hoping to get some browning ammo to try but nothing in stock near me. I plan to reload with 165 ABLR. If I can’t find those then one of the Hammer Hunters in the 150’s to 160 range.

Once I’ve shot it I’ll do my best to get back and report.

Sportsman’s still has some online stock. You would just ship it to your FFL or your local sportsman’s. They also have Christensen Arms rifles with the 20” barrel. But they aren’t in stock anywhere in their system. They said to expect a few more months. The biggest difference was weight. I think they came in at 5#.

I bought a new Ovix X-bolt Speed SR in 30-06 this past June at Cabela's, put a trijicon tenmile 3-18x on it and man its a tac driver. Total field weight is just shy of 9 1/4lbs. Used it to harvest a bull during 2nd rifle @ 550yds with a 178gr eld-x (rifle does well with this rounds).
