New broadhead and new arrow for ELK - Gravedigger COC head

I am thinking of trying the new (to me) bloodsport gravedigger cut on contact head and large 1 3/4 inch mechanical blades.

Someone recommended them to me as being good.

I currently shoot the FMJ 4mm deep six with the 2" rage expandables. I am not a fan of the shot collar and this year I had several of the blades and head loosen and fall apart in my quiver while backpack hunting. I took them out the package and never thought I had to tighten the allen screw - I guess lesson learned. I have several of these heads remaining.

I would need to switch my arrow because the gravediggers are no longer manufactured for deep six.

I shoot a 70# bow with 29.5 draw length, usually shoot blaser vanes with right offset and small arrow wrap. This is for elk hunting with shots 50 yards and in. I will have to get a new arrow like 5mm FMJ or axis etc to use this broadhead.

Are these broadheads easy to tune and don't plane like expandables since this is a hibred design.

I would appreciated peoples thoughts or experiences with the arrows and what arrow broadhead combination worked good for you.

Otherwise, I could just keep the deep six FMJ and rage hypodermic setup I have.

Thanks.

Seen this broadhead in action this past season. Gravedigger broadhead on the bloodsport arrows. I am not a fan of mechanicals whatsoever, but allowed these as they were hybrid.
The bull took the arrow in the pocket through the rib and lodged in the offside rib, the bull went 65 yards and was died on the run. I was impressed the arrow did have a hiss through the air but flew very well. The shot was 90 yards, way out of my comfort zone and was very scary but luckily we got a good shot and didn't have any problems. Blood trail was decent with only one hole, arrow broke off about 6 yards after impact. I have full video of this hunt.

I've run mine out to 120 and haven't noticed any change in POI. I haven't personally killed anything with one yet, but my buddy has. Both the deer and the cow elk were pretty hammered, neither made it very far.

Great lookin head...better choice than anything rage has ever made. These things have the same cut as the Simmons so you are looking at some big holes and should get 2 at normal bowhunters range.

I used one of the chisel tip gravedigger on a black tail earlier this December in Kodiak. I shot one a few times before the hunt, and they were spot on with field points on a well tuned bow. Took the mechanicals because of the windy conditions on the island. The shot went through both lungs and topped the heart, through ribs without any trouble. The exit was enormous and the blood flow prolific. 15 seconds and the deer was dead. 455 gr Gold Tip Kinetic arrow, 65 lb Elite Impulse 34, 29.5".

I have seen these in action and they are impressive.

Disclosure, i consider the owner/inventor a friend and have hunted with him]

I think these are better than a straight mech head due to the leading edge small BH. You still need to spin check them and make sure there is ZERO wobble. They work better when used with an arrow on the heavier side....though the few shots I've seen were with avg weight arrows and did not get a pass through. If you hit a soft tissue spot, these heads are devastating...
