I’m right at a year into my ‘trad journey’ and figured it was time to upgrade from my eBay special TBow riser. My RMS Gear P2P riser came in the mail yesterday and this thing is a definite step up from what I was shooting. What a neat looking riser, and pretty hefty which I like.

I got the 19” version in walnut and drilled for a springy. It’ll be wearing 45# Gobi limbs and a mercury string from Mountain Muffler. Still need to make a decision on a quiver as I’d been using my Tight Spot from my compound on my old riser. I didn’t have time to mess with it much last night so pics to come once it’s all set up.

I plan to contact South or RMS today to find out about recommended brace height but if any of you have messed around with this riser I’m curious to hear what you’ve seemed to like for BH. Can’t wait to get this thing set up and shooting!

I really like the P2P. Heavy which I like and I like the grip. I am at 8" with mine and I am shooting the uukha sx50 which is the "target" limb that is the same as the Gobi. Someone mentioned that Tom Clum was also at 8" with his P2P and Gobi limbs.

For those that shoot a P2P…have you had to order strings shorter than what you would think? Got her all strung up and my new 59” MM string puts my brace height right at 6.5”.

Again…19” riser, medium limbs, 59” string is equaling a 6.5” brace height. Pulled the string and measured to 59 1/16” so it’s not the string

In your alls opinion how much is too much when it comes to putting twists in a string? I’m up to 7 3/4” on my brace height but I’ve really been twisting the string to get there. I’m thinking this bow is going to require a string possibly as short as 58”.

Life’s busy right now so I’m messing with things for a half hour at a time before work right now but it’ll get there. This riser does seem to point like a dream for me though. I’ve been shooting at 15 yards while I mess with this string length/brace height debacle and for just getting used to it I’ve been happy with the way arrows have been stacking.

I have strings with a lot of twists, it's not ideal but I bet many guys can't tell the difference, it has a minimal effect.

The bow will tell you what's the best BH.

Shoot it at different Brace Heights and it will be smoother and quieter at the perfect BH.

Update for those interested. Twisted the string up and started playing. The bow seems to like brace height at 7 7/8”. It took a lot of twists to get there but this thing is shooting. Time and weather has got me bogged down to shooting in the shop but once I got brace height dialed in I went back to 15 yards and shot 3 fletched and one bare shaft and got this. Time to quit tinkering for now and just shoot the piss out of this thing.
