What is everyone using for binos for nrl hunter this year?

I’ve had a pair of Leica 3200.coms for the past couple years but they leave a lot to be desired. Glass is great obviously but ranging and the ballistic calculator leave a lot to be desired. We shot Mammoth this past year and in the rain and fog my 3200.coms were basically useless. My buddies sig kilos were able to range through the rain and fog. Honestly I’m probably more of a competitive shooter than hunter but still would like to be able to just have one pair of binos for both activities. I’ve been looking at these two options to replace:

Leica geovid pro ab+ 10x42

Questions on these would be:
-Do they interface with AB quantum ap
-how is ranging speed
-how well do they range in rain/fog

Vectronix Vextor X 12x42 with Rmr reticle

Questions on these would be
-is the glass good enough for most western hunting
-how bad is it with the reticle in your FOV
-how are these at ranging in rain/fog

Would really like to hear from guys that have used both. In a perfect world I’d like to sell my 3200.coms and use the money to fund a new pair of binos to use for both hunting and competitive shooting. Worst case I’ll keep the 3200.coms to hunt with and buy something just for shooting.

Thanks for the info guys.

I own the Vector X 10x42 SMR. I don’t have any problem with the reticle in my field of view. I personally don’t like the dual milling trees in my field of view. I have not played with the Geovid and the app, but I’ve tested both of these binos side by side. I wasn’t a huge fan of the Geovid display and the time it took to get data back compared to the Vectors. We had the Vectors, Leica Geovid Pro AB+ and Swaro EL’s comparing last 45 minutes of daylight. The glass in all 3 is good enough for me. For my eye, the Leica is similar to Vector and the Swaro is a tiny step up. These were not EL ranges, just EL. I’m happy with my Vectors fot western hunting, but I’m also not anchored by an experience running 15x NL Pures.

I dont have either of the options you listed but I do have a pair of rf binos that I've loved. The laser is great and glass has been good in my opinion. However having a ballistic calculator inside a set is very intriguing for me as I shoot alot and do compete in NRL as well.
There are 2 or 3 new ballistic lrf binos hitting the market this year and they all seem like they will compete pretty well at the top. I think tract, vortex, and leupold are all worth a look as well.

Ive got the geovid pro ab

9.8/10 glassing bino.
5/10 range finder (being generous)
2-3/10 on ballistics system.

Got them discounted/cert. Wouldn't buy them full price.

They really are a joy to glass with. No issues picking deer up 2+ miles. Ive compared them against some el ranges at some shoots and to my eye they are a step change better. Some people disagree, but the examples ive seen weren't as good as the geovids.

The user interface and ballistic output is just abysmal. Whoever designed it has never fired a round in their life.

Ive come up with a method that gets them serviceable. I mounted a kestrel to my tripod. Hit the laser and if im happy with the shot, I leave the glass and read the output off of the kestrel.

As near as I can tell, theres no communication between the leica app (which uses AB), and the AB app. The leica app sucks. You can Bluetooth from the AB app. But it seems like the AB app doesnt drive the bino. The bino sends data to the app, and you can see outputs there, but the numbers generated in the bino are from the leica app.

Soooo...I had to get the kestrel. I sync the AB app to the kestrel. Then sync the kestrel to the bino. The kestrel will drive the bino's calcs if its connected.

All of that nonsense about got me on a nice buck. Ended up not having a shot, but I had the kestrel and AB app initially synced to it with my 6.5 creed. Buck pops out and I lase it. Didn't end up getting a shot, but after the encounter I realized that the bino pulled my 25 prc data from the leica app. I would've missed 1 mil low.

So the bino seems to have no memory to the kestrel/AB app. Has to actively connected.

Conclusion...

If you can get them for a steal like I did. Pretty awesome unit for hunting. Just have to fight through the ballistics stuff. But for 99% of the time mainly used for glassing, great unit.

For a dedicated serious NRL device. I'd pass and pic up one of the new options.
The new tract and vortex are worth a look.
