New Backfire Lightweight Hunting Chassis?

So it doesn’t suck, it’s just similar to what’s already on the market. You should just say that instead of bashing a product. Or you should just be honest and say you don’t like the guy so you think his products suck

No, it actually does. In shooting it causes a slighty squishy recoil, makes spotting shots slightly more difficult. Having to put your recoil pad in a cast so it doesn’t deform- sucks.

I don’t like or dislike him- I don’t care about him. At no point have I said that his chassis is garbage- I simply addressed a very misguided statement that he has a history of testing and vetting.

Not really a favorite, but a grind to fit Pachmyer is the best available that I know of.

Assume you mean their D752 Decelerator, and then just choose thickness based on LOP?

I know this is not what came on any of my rokstocks but it looks like what comes on the wood ones from Alpine.

I wonder if one of the cervelatti pads will fit a Rokstock? The should be lighter than the packmyer and can be had in thickness’s from .59 all the way up to 1.25 inches.

He seems like a really reasonable guy. They seem humble in the description videos. I like that. I feel like I can call the guy and give input on what I would want. Perhaps if he was more of a know it all he would be more popular on here. I don't regularly watch his videos but I'm not a hater.
I like the price for the features. Im not a fan of the handguard but perhaps I would just cut the overhang off and have a nice cheep folder. Or perhaps we should just ask for it without the handguard.

The handguard over the barrel is what I didn't like also. I'm sure if he gets enough requests maybe we can get a different version. I'd be interested in trying it out either way, always have the ability to sell it!

I've lost count as to how many times I've reached out to Stockys and UM and begged them to inlet, VG and Rokstok, respectively, for a short action Ruger Hawkeye in LH. All i get is lip service or crickets. Stockys at one point PMed at one point if I'd be willing to send my action in for inletting. Said sure, then crickets. Then called Stockys last spring or summer, Jessica said they'd be coming out with the Ruger vg in a couple of weeks, took my number. Crickets since then. UM says maybe someday, but currently lots of other irons in the fire...which I understand, but...meanwhile, no word on when my Tikka Rokstok i ordered on September 11, 2025 will be cerakoted, still waiting to be made by Stockys (maybe another Tikka mold is in order???)

All this to say, if Jim puts his money where his mouth is in the shot show video, and inlets for many different actions that are lacking aftermarket support, and it doesn't take him 4.5+ months to deliver, i may be compelled to try one. In business, a big factor is being first to an underserved market. Would i rather get a Rokstok? Absolutely. But it seems highly unlikely given the lead time for Tikka Rokstoks and all the other projects.
