New Arken/Outlier Rifle

Arken/Outlier is coming out with a new rife. It seems like it's got some interesting features.

This thing seems pretty great, if it all works out - maybe a big ask. Ultralight, caliber swappable, chassis rifle WITH lightweight suppressor and scope for $2k?

Surprised there isn't more fuss over it.

I have an outlier 6cm barrel. It shoots.

I have an outlier chassis for another build. I do not understand what it’s missing compared to chassis that are 5x more expensive.

I suspect their rifles would be similar.


In my line of work - when you continue to raise your price, even with a good product, and you continue to ignore customer’s ability or willingness to pay for it, you open a supply side vacuum. And if another supplier is paying attention, they can enter at a very low cost plus point, and iron out the details along the way to a product that is still way cheaper than yours.


This seems like what’s happening here.

I wasn’t even interested in another rifle. I was looking at chassis systems when I stumbled upon the Outlier rifle. First of all, props to them because as far as I can tell, you can’t put that action into, say a Greyboe or an MDT. Seems like it’s unique to the chassis? I might be wrong, but that’s as far as I can tell.

If the entire package, suppressor and all, is under $2k, I’ll volunteer to be the guinea pig. I pray they make the options modular like their standalone chassis. I’d like a 16” 308 with a carbon barrel. I hope they have a folding stock option as well. This could get REAL interesting and you might see some of my Savages for sale if I get my way.

I can't find any info on calibers/twist rates/barrel lengths, and have emailed the company but no response. Anyone else see anything?

Also interested in seeing if their suppressors can be used on other rifles, but looks like it would have to be with some sort of special back plate to cut off the rear baffle opening...

If you go into their barrel ordering page you can see the details. Seems like they specialize in heavy contour, fast twist, short barrels. A 7 twist 6 creed prefit for a Tikka is sub $300

About 2:05 into this video, they talk about the caliber choices. But I agree, there isn’t much out there for information right now.
