How do you keep from cutting the belt material when you are sharpening a blade on the flat back side?
90% of the sharpening you'll do with this in the field will be with the strop and carbide bar. Its hard to describe without trying it, but with a little practice it's fairly easy to keep from cutting the webbing. It's fairly tough and can withstand some abuse as well.

Looks like a Grip6 belt without the curved buckle or swappable strap. Seems neat at first, but when I'm halfway through processing a critter in the field and hands are covered in blood/funk I'm not sure I want to be messing with my belt.
The belt is designed to give you the option to sharpen. But how and when you want to use it is up to you. We've field tested this thing a lot and it works really well. IMO the best use is after butchering or between animals with a clean blade.

Looks like the site says they ship late September. Is there a possibility that these would come out in August to be used during the Archery Elk season in September?

Possible, yes, but not looking likely. We are doing everything we can to get them made as soon as possible!

Clever derivative of the Grip6 belt. I've been using the Grip6 carbon fiber belt for hunting and love it. I use their belts for other occassions as well and think the design is genius.
Stoked to shed some weight of my sharpener. As someone else mentioned on IG, a flint stone integration would be awesome. I'm glad to support the development of this Argali kodiak belt!

@Brad@Argali how much extra length is there if you were a 35” and stayed with the medium? I’m guessing like you stated going to a large and trimming is the best all around option.
Edit: Ordered the large and spoke with Brad as well. Thanks @Brad@Argali !!

These look pretty awesome and are a tough sell being pretty similar in weight to Kuiu and Sitka's belts

Yup, you nailed it. I would do a Large and trim with scissors and melt the trimmed end with a lighter.
