Oh why oh why does Kifaru not incorporate the two stuff pouches and center zip of the emr2 on their new pack designs. News flash, not all hunters are bowhunters that need to strap a bow on the back of pack!
So not everyone is a bow hunter, but EVERY new pack should be set up for gun hunters? Yeah, that makes sense!

That’s a winning idea, I used to have a 5500 on a Kifaru frame. Kifaru is a long ways behind EXO on the bag design front IMO.

I think so too, the features and size of the 6400 are pretty killer for the price and weight. I had a 3500 for 3yrs and a 3200 K3 for a year until I switched because the K3 frame didn’t work for me.

I like Kifaru as a company more though based on my experiences with both. Also I decided at the end of the day I would rather have a bag native to the frame rather than mixing and matching. We’ll see if the Gnargali checks the boxes!

Makes sense to me as an OPTION for back country expeditions and hunting regardless of weapon of choice. The back of the bag configuration on emr2 is money yet haven’t seen that configuration since with their offerings. It’s the main reason why is still use my emr2 even though i don't care for compression strap system.

I'll admit I was being a bit pedantic. The way your post read it made it seem like you wanted every new pack to have a center zip and wings like the emr.

I get where you are coming from for sure... when they discontinue a pack design that you love it's a tough pill to swallow, especially since the new frames aren't 100% compatible with the old bags as far a the load lifters. I was there for a couple years with my argali. That's why I was so excited about the dall... it's an updated version of an old bag that I love. Hopefully they'll release an updated version of the emr for you one of these days!

Edit: now that I'm looking, isn't the fulcrum basically an updated emr?

Fulcrum supposed to be an “update” of emr2, but again they took away the two stuff pouches on back of bag and some other features but added more straps. A good example, in my opinion, of trying to improve something but actually making it worse off.

I’ll probably end up getting a custom bag made or modify a Kifaru bag to get closer to what I’m looking for in terms of layout configuration. As mentioned here by others, the Exo 6400 has some great concepts.

I wish there was a Kifaru option that had an outer stuff pocket like the exo, they could have little slots cut in the face to allow the belt pouches matrix to pop through so you could run belt pouches or just the stuff pocket. Would have been sweet on the dall and gnargali.

Well I said fu@& it and ordered the gnargali and some belt pouches. I like Kifaru as a company and trust that they made a badass pack. I’m sure I’ll love it, and I’m excited to test it out the next year

Post up some pictures when you get it! I’m on the fence about ordering a gnargali or muskeg. I like the rear pocket for a bow cam on the gnargali but I also like the main zipper on the muskeg.

Do you guys think it will compress down and be functional as a day pack as well? I’m a newbie so apologies if it’s a stupid question.

Ya especially with the gnargali. The dall will have extra material when compressed down but it won’t be much different. I’ll post a photo of compressed and uncompressed when I get the gnargali

Excited to see what you guys think. I’ve been hoping they would make this bag for awhile now. Finally time to get rid off the high camp.

I have a HC 7k too. I have always wanted bottle pocket, and better compression. Just not sure about the xpac fabric? I also like the bottom zipper access on the HC. So close, not sure if I’ll make the switch yet?

I won’t miss the lower zipper access but will love the extra compression strap. Bottle pockets will be a nice touch too, interested to see how the xpac does up here in the PNW compared to the other bags I have.

Let us know how that Dall is I’ll be interested to know what you think about the size difference between your old argali and the dall

Stuffed her with some sleeping bags, the dall is noticeably bigger, especially from side to side. It's a tiny bit taller as well but hard to tell from the pics.

Edit: one pleasant surprise I found in the bag... it has a sleeve for a hydration bladder. I don't remember Aron mentioning that in his video.
