Hello everyone, I’m new to the group, in the Reno NV area. I really got addicted to hunting this year after helping a buddy with his kids antelope tag, getting my first buck down and filling my cow dep tag on my last day (after five trips to the area). Being that I’m 40 I feel rushed to make up for lost time, experience and knowledge.
Now I won’t survive if I don’t pull some sort of tag every year, so I’m applying to neighboring states and just picked up a new bow to start archery.
I research and obsess over detail so I’ll be diving into these threads hardcore! Fun fact, I have 3 Labs and just finished my overland truck build. Those that live in my area, apologies if you see me ripping around, I don’t usually drive like an a-hole intentionally, I’m on a constant flow of caffeine, nicotine, and stimulation searching!

Haha great taste, sir! This was one my many clueless trips looking for cow elk, just barely beat the storm. A beautiful launch point though!

Welcome to the slide. No sense posting any pics of NV 😉😉 it sucks here. There are no deer here. Repeat after me… there are no deeer here. Nothin but rattlesnakes, black widows, and sand as far as the eye can see. As soon as I can afford it, I’m moving to the Midwest.

Pice of advice: if you shoot any caliber heftier than 6 mm, keep it on the down low. You’ll see what I mean later.

Since you’re a newbie you may or may not know this one. In all seriousness, if you post any grip and grins (also known as harvest pics) make sure there are no identifiable landmarks and for godsake don’t mention the spot specifically in text. If you do there’ll be 5000 guys out there from Vegas in 15 minutes. When asked where I got that buck I’ll say “Area 10, any more than that and I have to kill you”

Thanks for the pointers! Well I can actually testify to that, I’m great at finding barren country. I heard California is the place to move to, great politics and tons of cheap houses!

Will do, look forward to running the enigma regarding calibers.

No sharing in public, got it! Half the time I don’t know where I am either, so that’s an easy one.
