Nevada draw

Per the rules they have to release the results within 48 hours of the draw taking place. I think the draw wrapped up in the afternoon today, I didn’t catch the exact time, but I bet we see results by late morning or midday on Friday. Tomorrow would be a nice surprise though!

Since I’ve noticed they’ve sometimes released results ore than 48 hours after the draw was completed I did some digging. With some creative legal language they have until 5:00 tomorrow to release results. See item 2 in the highlighted section in picture.

Good find! I guess that’s why the big game booklet says end of day the 23rd. I still think we see results earlier in the day tomorrow.

Nothing for me across regular and silver state.

I did some math earlier this year and realized the expected value of a life time of Nevada and Arizona draws is almost certainly negative. Most literal lottery tickets have lower "loss" (and i was using large numbers for the "value" of a win, 100k for a rocky sheep tag, 15k for a good elk tag, ...). I decided to keep Nevada in my rotation and not do Arizona but really should have just thrown that money into the stock market.

New Mexico is also very unlikely to be "worth it" and was borderline for me too this year but I am just a sucker I guess.

Utah looked really good from expected value perspective but this will change with their fee increase next year. But this also means that the forward looking value of the points accumulated drops by a lot. Well, I have given it another shot and of course no draws for me.

Looks like the only positive EV plays are WA (resident) and the big four elk herds (CO, WY, MT, ID), and very much not every species -- mostly just elk and deer and Antelope. And then you have hefty hefty fees for the three that aren't CO.
