Yes you can return your tag and get your points back. I believe there is a 7 day window after the draw you can do it through the website and I think you get the tag fee back, but double check that. After that it needs to be done in person and tag fee is not returned to you.

How hard the tags are to draw anymore it would take a lot for me to return any tag, but I know it happens.

I have only ever returned 1. I drew rifle pronghorn, muzzleloader elk, and late archery deer in 2023. I tore the meniscus in my knee training in the spring. I still did the pronghorn and elk tag, but by the time I got to the late archery deer tag I decided that it wasn't going to be worth it. The dr. said that I tore it up pretty good with all the hunting that year.

Definitely. I had to cancel on a June training event that was important to me because of a medical procedure that got scheduled right in the window, and couldn't be moved for months - immensely frustrating, to say the least. It would be the same with tags.
