Nemo disco here... Pair it with my super down when it gets below 20 but it's packable. I am a side sleeper 6'2 190lbs

I like my big agnes anvil horn 0*

I like how the sleeping pad is captive on the bottom of the bag so I don't roll off. Temp rating might be a little optimistic - I had a big wool quilt on top and puffys on inside once the temps got below zero to stay toasty warm. Nice bag for the price though when on sale

I was looking at this bag. Is that gizmo under the bag to hold the pad a nuisance or worth it? Can you use the bag without putting your pad in that sleeve, or will is leave annoying bunched up material under you?

Never tried it. I ordered mine with the big agnes pad that was made for it. There isn't really anything under it besides some thin little stretch corners. I can't imagine they'd be a bother without the pad. The bad doesn't have any down in it on the pad section which makes good sense to me but I guess would be a little less comfortable without a pad.

I’ve got a Nemo Disco and find it nice and roomy as I’m a side sleeper as well. I do think the 15 degree rating is a little optimistic. I’ve had a few cold nights in that bag and am looking into a Western Mountaineering bag to replace it for a upcoming brooks range hunt this fall.

I have a Riff 15degree...no complaints. I am not as big though 5'7" 170lbs. I have slept in it into the teens no issues...also did one trip in the single digits. I just added a small fleece liner , again no issue.

I have a Nemo sonic in tall that I've used one trip that might be available soon. I ordered a stone glacier bag if I like it I plan on selling my sonic.
Of you want I can let you know. I really like the sonic just tryin to go lighter.
I also have a disco 15 that I really like also.
Plenty of room in both bags.
I'm 6'3 240lbs just for reference

Nemo Coda looks interesting. Haven't used, but spec wise it looks great. Comfort rating to 23 degrees. 63" chest circumference. waterproof footbox. And has the zippered gill to vent at feet and chest.

I bought a Nemo Disco 15 last year. Used it for a week in sept in CO backpack elk hunt with temps as low as about 25° with long sleeve wool T-shirt/ long John’s and was comfortable. I have done about 5 more nights in it down to 35°. I’m a side sleeper, 5’11” & 195 so same size. I’m happy with it especially for the price. I had even got mine on sale too so under $300.

Brought my 13 yr old son with on the CO hunt last year and he used a big Agnes torchlight UL 20° bag and asked him every morning how he slept-always warm and comfortable. That one is a little lighter, probably same temp rating as the disco, but about $100 more.

I’ll get a WM at some point though, upgrading glass next. I’ll keep using either the disco or the torchlight.

I learned this recently about sleeping bag ratings. The number is a survivability rating. In a 20 bag you will live at 20, but youre not going to be warm and toasty.

Yes, most box store brands temp rating is lower limit (survival). Western Mountaineering, SG Chilkoot, Feathered Friends use comfort rating for their temp ratings.

You read that wrong. The number given on bags is the LIMIT rating, which is the temp the average male can sleep comfortably. The COMFORT rating is usually 10-15 degrees above that, and is the temp that an average female can sleep comfortably. EXTREME rating on the label is the temp where you can curl up in a fetal position and still survive, but probably not sleep at all.

Almost everyone uses the LIMIT rating to advertise their bags, WM included. I have had a Kodiak for several years. They list it as a 0 degree bag. You dig into their charts and they comfort rate that bag at 13 degrees, limit rate it at -1, extreme rating is -41, and their rating is 5 degrees, and not 0. They have it listed on their website under FAQs.

I’ve ran a nemo bag for about 5-6 years. Not sure the model buts it’s a 15 degree bag. It does good. I’ve ran it down to around 0 and haven’t had any problems staying warm. The zipper does get caught sometimes but it’s not a huge problem if you zip it up slow.
