Built myself a large tiny house for my primary residence this year. I’m hoping to install a wood stove in a couple months. I need some recommendations. Unfortunately, I won’t have a big budget. The stove will definitely need to be under $1,000. Square footage is 432. Most stoves heat at least 700 sq ft. My thought was the US Stove TH-100. They seem to be made well. Home Depot reviews are mostly negative, but those basically all pertain to shipping damage. Does anyone here have experience with that stove, or something similar? I need something that has minimal clearance requirements as I don’t have a huge space to put one. Thanks

This stove is rated to heat a 224 sq ft tent in below zero stuff. I bet it would heat a decently insulated 432 sq ft house. I was looking at the smaller one to heat my wall tent, mostly because it is fairly air tight with the door gasket.

My problem is the clearance required for a stove like that. On the one I listed the link for, it only requires 2” of clearance for the back, and 8” for the sides.

I think you guys missed the point that his house is only 432 sq ft. With those options, he’ll be sitting in a 432sqft 190 degree sauna within minutes

Yeah, I’m not into saunas lol

I would recommend avoiding the box store chinese stoves. Used quality brand stoves are not too hard to find and I highly recommend that route.

Could one get a couple sheets of corrugated steel and some fire board and fix that issue? Maybe leave a couple inches between them and/or the wall. It’s a tent stove so I suspect the clearance is spec’d accordingly. It’s going to be a challenge to find a regular wood stove for that small a space.

I searched for tiny home wood stoves and found some a while back. A few others I’ve looked at are below. I’m wanting to find one that will hold a fire 8 ish hours for my tent. The first one I shared seems to have a fire box size that may do it. The others below seen too small to hold a fire very long.
