Need Help: Merino Base Layer Shirt Weights

I have some Icebreaker, Smartwool, and KUIU merino. Smartwool is by far my favorite. Softer fabric and compared to the other brands it seems more dense even comparing similar weights. Maybe that is why it is more expensive. Of course, KUIU is actually a merino blend and the lighter stretchy fabric works well for early season hunts.

So in the heat of the day in early season, are some of you just wearing the lightweight short sleeves in non camo colors? I have a chama in asat but I quickly found out its too hot in mild temps.

I wear ls shirts in early season for sun protection (I'm a freckled, fair-skinned fella). They are light weight, synthetic and merino. I tested a Chama, and yes, it is too thick. Try a lighter gram merino (200 gram or less).
